Jour de voyage : Ubud à Pemuteran

We were lucky enough to have a driver for the entirety of the trip, chauffer us in a very comfortable air-conditioned van. We had some longer travel days, but the stops along the way were phenomenal.

Today, we went to a traditional Balinese compound in Tabanan, where we learned how to write in Sanskrit, make coconut oil, and make a ceremonial offering. We took this offering to the temple on the other side of the creek to participate in a healing ceremony.

A priest guided us through a meditation to open our chakras. It is such a captivating process. You close your eyes, and as you move through the chakras, you see different colours. You do see the colours in each area, which is fascinating. He then proceeds through the group to provide healing to everyone.

We discovered during this session that each of us was here for a different reason. This experience only brought us closer as a group, and we were exposed to our fellow travellers’ vulnerable and raw emotions. Another delicious regional lunch, and back into the van for the next adventure.

We stopped along the way to another Unesco Heritage Sight, the rice fields in Jaytiluwuh. Our local guide introduced us to the various types of rice grown and the farming methodology to ensure the crops continue to thrive.

The journey continued to Pemuteran. It’s a sleepy little beach town with black sand beaches and hotel nubmer 2.
