I purposely kept my first day in Bali low-key; I got up and had breakfast. I tried the traditional version with rice porridge to see if I would like it to balance my trip. Most complimentary hotel breakfasts include bread, so my only option was to eat the more traditional rice dish.
I booked transportation to my next resort for the next day at eleven am. I made a spa appointment, had a facial and a fantastic massage, and spent some time by the pool. In the afternoon, I had a nap to catch up on the sleep that did not happen on the plane.
I had booked an executive suite with access to a lounge and a complimentary pre-dinner cocktail. I went up and had a glass of wine and realized the airport control tower was in the middle of the hotel.

I returned to the hotel restaurant for dinner and a Balinese Pad Thai version, including a fried egg. I was going to go to the bar for a drink but decided to return to my room and relax watching a movie.
The next day, my real trip begins; I will meet my fellow travellers for the yoga and wellness portion of the journey.
