Sur de soi

The word of the week confidence. “Sur de soi” en française .

What a difference a week makes, I did not get lost this week while navigating my way to and from school in downtown Montreal. I did not feel lost on the train and got off and on at the correct stations.I am getting used to working from home again and I have even managed to make a friend, I am calling him George.

George

As I navigate this next chapter, it’s about finding balance and equilibrium in our lives and how they come together. My other half came home from work on Wednesday after a long day of meetings and commuting slightly exhausted and wanting to stay in.   In contrast, I was suffering from cabin fever as I had not yet left the house that day. I let him relax for a bit and then dragged him out to Ikea to understand my vision for our closet. PAX really is a girl’s best friend and in his detest of clutter, he is on-board with my vision.

On Tuesday and Thursday’s it’s the opposite, I am the one coming home after working a full day, commuting by train to school, attending the lecture and then returning home. I walk in the door around 10:30 pm on those nights. He has been home and had time to relax and wind down. I come home and we share stories about our day, possibly a glass of wine or a bubble bath is need to assist in my wind down.  I am tired but not yet ready for bed, so our bedtime has been pushed back an hour later as a result of this situation.

Friday’s can be relaxing, it just depends on the weekend.  The kids alternate weekends between our house and their Mom’s on the weekends. Every other Friday is a little bit crazy, they have been apart from their Dad for 4 days; they are full  excitement and stories from the week. Theoretically, the alternate Friday should be relaxing just the two of us and hopefully a bottle of wine. I am patiently waiting for this to happen and the moving craziness to end.

Tonight, we are hoping on a train to Toronto, my belongs are being put into a U-haul tuck tomorrow and then drive back tomorrow night.  Unpacking to commence on Sunday; this won’t be a relaxing  weekend at all. Fingers crossed it all goes well, and I have positive stories to  report  next week or it may be a comedic post.  I am sure it will be a relationship test.

Bonne Weekend – tout le monde
