I successfully arrived in Montreal on Saturday and we have officially begun our lives together under the same roof. Our relationship has always been long distance; there has been the anticipation of the weekend’s arrival or a planned vacation where we could spend an entire week together. This marks a new chapter in our lives.
Saturday was a difficult day for so many reasons, it marked the one year anniversary of my grandmother’s passing and it also marked the closing of the Toronto chapter of my life. Yes I will be back to visit but I won’t be calling up a girlfriend on a whim to have drinks or go to a move on a Tuesday night. A few tears were shed as I left the city. I am excited about the next chapter of my life but also sad one chapter is closing.
I was fortunate that this move came on a long weekend and we were also child free which allowed us a bit of time to adjust and settle into this new arrangement. He was ever so thoughtful and had flowers waiting on the table for my arrival to make it feel like home. Saturday we relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company.
On Sunday it was time to go out and explore an area just outside of Montreal, the country side that is very close to the city. Our destination was Saint-Eustache, to a very cute lavender farm called La Maison Lavande . This was just what the doctor ordered; the beauty and tranquility of this place can calm your mind and soul. We has an amazing day including finding an ostrich farm which was our lunch stop and ferries to and from the location. He knows how to make me happy, I do love a ferry boat as it reminds me BC. In the evening we decided to venture out to a Canada Day Celebration in Dorval. Despite the heat, the band was amazing and the fireworks were a great end to a fantastic day.
Monday, we were invited over to his brother’s place to hang out by the pool. The temperature this weekend was at least 35 degrees Celsius with a humidex. (aka feels like 44). We picked up his mother along the way and spent the day with the family, or as I like to call it French immersion for the day. It was good practice for Tuesday when French lessons begin begin. ……
